Electronic City Phase II is about 20 km from HSR Layout, 22 km from Silk Board, 25 km from Sarjapur Road and 8 km from Bommasandra, all measured to the Andapura and Huskur Road side where Gold Coins Club & Resort sits. On a clear run those are journeys of roughly 40, 45, 50 and 18 minutes respectively; in peak traffic each stretches by half again or more. The routes, in plain terms
Hosur Road and the elevated expressway
Almost every approach from the north uses Hosur Road, and the decision on that road is whether to take the Electronic City Elevated Expressway or the service road beneath it. The elevated stretch runs from around Silk Board down to Electronic City and skips the signals, the bus stops and the merging traffic on the service road below. It is a toll road, collected by FASTag.
In the weekday peaks the elevated road is straightforwardly worth it and typically saves fifteen to twenty-five minutes. On a quiet Sunday morning the service road is often just as fast, and it has the advantage of letting you exit anywhere. Coming down the elevated road for the resort, exit at the Electronic City Phase II side, then turn east onto Huskur Road and continue towards Andapura village.
Silk Board junction
Central Silk Board is the single biggest variable in any journey from the north or the east. Everything routed through it inherits its condition. The practical advice is simple: if your route can avoid Silk Board, avoid it, and if it cannot, get onto the elevated expressway as soon as you are past it. From Silk Board itself the elevated road runs south past Bommanahalli and Singasandra and brings you down at Electronic City with no signals in between, which is why the Silk Board to Electronic City run is far more predictable than its 22 km suggests.
NICE Road
NICE Road is the ring corridor that connects Hosur Road with Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road, Mysore Road and Tumkur Road. If you are coming from the west or the south-west of Bangalore, from Kengeri, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Uttarahalli or the Mysore Road side, NICE Road is almost always the right answer: it is a tolled expressway with no signals and it delivers you onto Hosur Road close to Electronic City, entirely bypassing the city. From the north and east it is usually a detour rather than a shortcut.
The Sarjapur loop
From Sarjapur Road there are two options and they are not close. Routing west through Silk Board and then south is shorter on the map and slower in reality. The better run is east past Dommasandra, south on the Sarjapur to Attibele road to Attibele, then north on Hosur Road through Chandapura and Bommasandra to Electronic City. It is a longer loop, it avoids Silk Board completely, and it is the route most regular travellers on the Sarjapur Road side settle on.
Attibele toll plaza
The Attibele toll plaza is on the Bangalore to Hosur stretch, south of Electronic City near the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu border. It matters only if you are travelling to or from Hosur, Krishnagiri or beyond. If you are coming to Electronic City from Attibele, Chandapura or Bommasandra you are travelling north, away from the plaza, and you will not cross it. Queues at the plaza affect southbound weekend traffic in particular, so if you are heading further south afterwards, plan around it.
The last stretch
Whichever route you take, the final part is the same and worth knowing in advance, because it is where map applications get imprecise. Leave Hosur Road at the Electronic City Phase II exit or at Huskur Gate, turn east onto Huskur Road, and follow it past the Phase II tech parks towards Andapura. The resort is roughly a kilometre in from the main road at No. 45/1. If you are directing a driver or a bus, send the map pin rather than the address; village road names in this pocket are not reliably labelled.
When to leave
The honest version of Bangalore traffic advice is that departure time matters more than route choice.
Heading south on a weekday, leave before 8 AM or after 11 AM. The southbound evening peak runs roughly from 5 PM to 9 PM and is at its worst on Fridays, when the weekend exodus towards Hosur and Tamil Nadu adds to the office traffic. Heading north into the city on a weekday, the morning peak between 8 AM and 11 AM is the one to avoid, because the entire tech corridor is moving in that single direction.
On weekends the pattern flips. Saturday and Sunday mornings are clear until about nine and then fill steadily as families head out of town. If you are coming for a day at the resort, leaving before nine costs you nothing and can save half an hour. The return in the early evening is usually straightforward, since you are travelling against the weekend homeward flow until quite late.
Rain changes everything by a wide margin. Twenty minutes of heavy rain on Hosur Road can double any figure in the table above. In the monsoon months, add a buffer rather than optimising the route.
What this means for a day out
The reason these numbers are worth publishing is that they are the difference between a day out and a drive. A family in Electronic City can decide at nine on a Sunday morning and be in the pool by eleven, which is not true of a resort sixty kilometres up Kanakapura Road. A team in Bommasandra can run a half-day offsite without hiring a bus. Even from HSR Layout or Sarjapur Road, a forty to fifty minute run each way leaves the whole middle of the day intact.
