Chandapura has become one of the densest residential belts on the southern edge of Bangalore, layer after layer of apartment blocks and layouts spreading east along the Chandapura to Anekal road and west towards Hosur Road. Most of those households came for affordable space near Electronic City's jobs, and most of them discover the same thing on their first weekend: there is very little to do locally that involves a large swimming pool. Gold Coins Club & Resort is about eight kilometres north at Andapura, off Huskur Road. From Chandapura circle you go up Hosur Road through Bommasandra, exit at Electronic City Phase II and turn east, which is under twenty minutes when the circle behaves. The trip is short enough to do on impulse, which matters when you have young children and plans made on Saturday night rarely survive to Sunday morning. On the grounds there is a large swimming pool, rain dance, lawns, indoor and outdoor games, a banquet hall, restaurant and bar, and 59 rooms if a birthday party runs late. The resort has been operating since 1994.

The route
From Chandapura circle, head north on Hosur Road through Bommasandra towards Electronic City. Turn right onto Huskur Road on the Phase II side and continue to Andapura. Residents on the Anekal road side can cut across via the Bommasandra to Jigani link road instead.
